You may want to read Alfie Kohn's book, The Homework Myth. It totally changed how I view homework. I highly recommend it!

Thank you for spreading the news and for mentioning my blog - you may also find this blog post helpful as you are a new teacher - http://teachingeverystudent.blogspot.com/2007/06/free-technology-toolkit-for-udl-in-all.html

It highlights a number of free tools that i believe should be available to students. There's also a wiki at http://udltechtoolkit.wikispaces.com.

I see you have a link to the University of Regina on the side. Are you affiliated with Alec Courosa? If so, you are learning from the best!

Wow, when it rains it pours, but as you put it, that is the small stuff. It always stops raining and puddles are fun to jump in. Wow, that was profound wasn't it?

Truthfully, you could not have ended that better, what really matters is family and happiness.

Good on ya!

i appreciate your article, because affective assessment in the 21st century classroom is vital, this is because of the paradigm shift from a teacher -centered classroom environment to a student-centered one.
however, it would be great if you could post a rubric on how to assess the affective learning of the learners.

thanks!

You did a really good job with your blog. It is so well put together. I really like how you have a place to comment on each of your tech tasks. Your pictures on this scrap book blog look so good! Keep it up

Hi Michelle
I agree with you that it is our job as teachers to teach our students about proper internet etiquette. It seems like most kids now days know their way around the internet too well... They don't know what's safe and what's not. I think you are doing a great job of modelling that with your blog. It looks really good.

Michelle,

I really liked the outlook that you took on our blog project. I can feel how your blog is personal to you through all of your entries. Your blog is practical in an educational way and a lifestyle way.

One suggestion that I have for you is maybe organizing your main page a little bit more. I found that I was a little overwhelmed with all of the posts blocked into one main section. This maybe could be done through categories or maybe making a separate homepage.
